Membership Fees and Payment Policy

This policy applies to payments made to the Professional Association of Assistive Technologists CIC (PAAT) for membership certification applications and annual membership fees.

Application fee

There is a one-off application fee to submit a certification application to PAAT. This fee covers the cost of processing and assessing your application.

Payment is taken online at the point of submitting your application. Your application will not be processed until payment has been received.

Annual membership fee

Upon successful certification, an annual membership fee applies. This covers your ongoing membership of PAAT and access to member benefits.

Right to cancel

The 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 applies to contracts between a trader and a consumer, where a consumer is an individual acting for purposes which are wholly or mainly outside that individual's trade, business, craft, or profession. As applicants apply for PAAT certification in their professional capacity, this right does not apply to certification applications.

To provide further clarity, applicants are asked to confirm, when submitting their application, that they consent to PAAT beginning to process it immediately.

Refunds

The application fee is non-refundable once your application has been submitted and your assessment has begun.

If your application is unsuccessful following assessment, the application fee is non-refundable.

If PAAT is unable to process your application for reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund of the application fee.

Annual membership fees are non-refundable once the membership period has begun. If you choose to cancel your membership during the year, no partial refund will be issued for the remaining period.

Cancellation

To cancel your membership, please contact us at membership@pa-at.org. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current membership year.
