Cookie Notice

What this notice covers

This notice explains the cookies used on The Professional Association of Assistive Technologists CIC ("PAAT") website (pa-at.org), why we use them, and your choices regarding them.

Cookie consent banner

When you first visit this website, you will see a notice asking whether you accept cookies. Your response is saved so you are not asked again on future visits.

Cookies we use

We use only the following cookies, all of which are necessary for the website to function correctly or to remember your cookie preference:

  • Session cookie. This keeps you logged in while you complete a membership application and remembers your progress through a multi-step form. It is deleted when you close your browser.
  • cookie-agreed. This records whether you have accepted or declined cookies on this site. It is set by the cookie consent banner and expires after a set period.
  • cookie-agreed-version. This records the version of the cookie notice you responded to, so we can ask again if the notice changes significantly.

All of these cookies are strictly necessary. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can accept or decline cookies using the banner when you first visit the site. Because all cookies we use are strictly necessary, declining will not affect your ability to browse the website. Please note that the session cookie is required for the membership application form to work correctly.

You can also view and delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Information logged alongside cookies

Separately from cookies, our membership application form records the IP address of the device used to submit a form, as standard practice for security and fraud prevention. This is mentioned in our Privacy Notice and is not a cookie, but we note it here for completeness.

Changes to this notice

If we introduce any new cookies or tracking technologies in future, we will update this notice before doing so and put the appropriate consent mechanism in place where required by law.
